தமிழ்நாடு அரசு இதை கனிவுடன் பரிசீலித்து ஊதியத்துடன் கூடிய மாதவிடாய் விடுமுறையை பெண்களுக்கு வழங்க வேண்டும் என்று இயக்குநர் விஜய்ஶ்ரீ ஜி கோரிக்கை

ஜி மீடியா ஜெய ஶ்ரீ விஜய் தயாரிப்பில் விஜய்ஶ்ரீ ஜி இயக்கத்தில் கடந்த ஆண்டு வெளியான திரைப்படம் ‘ஹரா’. திரையரங்குகளில் வெற்றிகரமாக ஓடியதை தொடர்ந்து அமேசான் பிரைம் மற்றும் ஆஹா ஒடிடி தளங்களில் வெளியான ‘ஹரா’ திரைப்படம் ஜீ திரை தொலைக்காட்சியிலும் சமீபத்தில் ஒளிபரப்பப்பட்டது. மோகன் முதன்மை வேடத்தில் நடித்திருந்த இப்படம் மாதவிடாய் சமயத்தில் பெண்களுக்கு விடுமுறை வழங்க வேண்டும் என்ற கருத்தை வலியுறுத்தி இருந்தது.

‘ஹரா’ படம் வெளியான போது இந்த கருத்துக்கு எதிர்மறை விமர்சனங்கள் வந்தன. ஆனால் அந்த சமயத்திலேயே நார்வே நாட்டில் பெண்களுக்கு ஊதியத்துடன் கூடிய மாதவிடாய் விடுமுறை சட்டமாக்கப்பட்டது. மேலும் பல நாடுகளிலும் இது அமல்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது.

இந்நிலையில் தற்போது கர்நாடகாவில் அனைத்து துறைகளில் பணிபுரியும் பெண்களுக்கும் மாதவிடாயின் போது மாதம் ஒரு நாள் என வருடத்திற்கு 12 நாட்கள் ஊதியத்துடன் கூடிய விடுமுறை வழங்க வேண்டும் என்று அம்மாநில அரசு உத்தரவிட்டுள்ளது.

இதற்காக கர்நாடக அரசுக்கு நன்றி தெரிவித்துள்ள இயக்குநர் விஜய்ஶ்ரீ ஜி, தமிழ்நாடு அரசும் இதை செயல்படுத்த வேண்டும் என்று கோரிக்கை வைத்துள்ளார்.

இது குறித்து அவர் கூறியதாவது: “ஹரா படத்தின் ஒரு முக்கிய காட்சியில் மோகனின் மகள் பூப்படைந்த உடன் தேர்வுக்கு அவரை அனுப்பாமல் பள்ளி நிர்வாகத்திடம் விடுப்பு கேட்பார். இதை பள்ளி நிர்வாகம் ஏற்காது. அப்போது மோகன் மாதவிடாய் காலங்களில் பெண்கள் எதிர்கொள்ளும் சவால்கள் குறித்தும் அவர்களுக்கு விடுமுறை அளிக்க வேண்டிய தேவை குறித்தும் வலியுறுத்துவார். இந்த காட்சி பிற்போக்குத்தனமானது என்று அப்போது விமர்சிக்கப்பட்டது.

ஆனால் இக்கருத்தை இப்போது இதர நாடுகளும் நம் நாட்டிலேயே கர்நாடகா அரசும் ஏற்றுள்ளது வரவேற்கத்தக்கது. கர்நாடகா அரசுக்கு என் சார்பிலும் படக் குழுவினர் சார்பிலும் மனமார்ந்த நன்றியை தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறேன். இந்த கருத்துக்கு ஆதரவளித்த நடிகர் மோகனுக்கும் எனது படக் குழுவினருக்கும் நன்றியை உரித்தாக்குகிறேன். மேலும் இந்த கருத்தில் உள்ள நியாயத்தை உணர்ந்து தமிழ்நாடு அரசு இதை கனிவுடன் பரிசளித்து மாதவிடாயின் போது பெண்களுக்கு சம்பளத்துடன் கூடிய விடுமுறையை வழங்க வேண்டும் என்று அன்புடன் கேட்டுக்கொள்கிறேன்.” இவ்வாறு இயக்குநர் விஜய்ஶ்ரீ ஜி தெரிவித்தார்.

Director Vijay Sri G requests Tamil Nadu government to consider and implement paid menstrual leave for women

‘Haraa’ directed by Vijay Sri G and produced by G Media Jayasree Vijay, was released last year. After its successful theatrical run, the film started streaming on Amazon Prime and Aha OTT platforms and was also recently aired on Zee Thirai. Starring Mohan in the lead role, ‘Haraa’ emphasised the importance of granting leave to women during menstruation.

At the time of its release, the film faced criticism for promoting this idea. However, Norway had implemented paid menstrual leave to women. Several other countries have also adopted similar policies.

And now, the Karnataka government has decided granting one day of paid leave per month—adding up to 12 days a year—for all women employees across sectors during their menstrual period.

Expressing gratitude to the Karnataka government for this move, director Vijay Sri G has urged the Tamil Nadu government to implement a similar policy.

Speaking on the matter, he said:.“In a crucial scene in ‘Haraa’, Mohan’s daughter attains puberty and he refuses to send her to school for an exam, instead requesting leave from the school authorities. The school administration denies this, and Mohan strongly advocates for the need to grant leave to girls during menstruation, highlighting the challenges women face during this time. That scene was criticized as regressive back then.

But now, this very idea has been accepted by other countries and even by the Karnataka government within our own nation, which is a welcome development. On behalf of myself and the film crew, I sincerely thank the Karnataka government. I also thank actor Mohan and my team for supporting this concept. Furthermore, I request the Tamil Nadu government to consider the fairness of this cause and grant paid menstrual leave to women.”
